Key Takeaways

  • How Matt’s #1 resolution will be critical in 2022…
  • A resolution that’s all about you — yes, you!
  • What matters more than results…

Hey all, Matt here!

Happy New Year! 2021 was an awesome trading year, and I’m hoping to make 2022 even better.

A lot of that will depend on the opportunities. There may not be fewer opportunities, but they definitely could be different.

That’s why adapting is so key!

Anyway, here are my trading resolutions for 2022…

Matt’s Trading Resolutions for 2022

Here are the three things I’m most focused on in the new year…

#1. Expand My Trading

In general, I want to keep improving as a trader.

The learning never stops in the markets. That’s what keeps things interesting … There’s always something new to learn and lots of ways to improve.

You’re constantly on your toes. You can’t rest on your laurels if you want to keep up.

A lot of patterns, sectors, and setups can work for a long time. But something new can enter into the equation every year — or at any time really. I hope to stay on top of it all.

#2. Limit Losses

I’ve talked about a certain trend a lot in Small Cap Rockets and Small Cap Recap lately … The market in the past two months or so just hasn’t excited me much.

Part of that’s because, in choppy markets, it’s easy to lose big. Then those big losses can snowball if you let bad habits and emotions take over. No thanks.

So until the market shifts, I’ll trade small. Yes, this means smaller profits — but more importantly, smaller losses too.

There’s no need to take big losses when the reward doesn’t align well with the risk.

Join me — keep your trade sizes small until the market gives you that perfect setup you’ve been waiting for.

#3. Double-Down on Teaching

Are you guys ready to study hard in 2022? Okay, then this one’s for you…

Back in the spring of 2020, when I was working with Tim Sykes to create the 30-Day Bootcamp, my trading accelerated at a rate I’d never experienced before.

I learned so much in the process, and that experience inspired me to become a mentor myself.

Now I hope to do my best to pass that spirit on.

All the teaching I do now helps me to improve as a trader…

And not only is it good for me … I love helping traders like you!

That’s why I run Crypto Rockets. It’s why I work with Bryce and John Papa in the Small Cap Rockets chat room.

I’ve personally seen the power of education, there’s nothing else like it. Hopefully, I can help even more traders — like you — strive towards success in 2022.

Bryce’s Trading Resolutions for 2022

Hey everyone! I echo a lot of what Matt said. But since every trader is unique, I have some resolutions of my own…

#1. Be a Better Teacher

Okay, I’ll admit there’s some overlap here. (After all, Matt and I do spend a lot of time together.)

The bottom line? Nothing excites Matt and me more than teaching.

Being successful in trading is one thing, but giving back through teaching is an even greater joy.

I get so much out of helping others learn the style that’s helped me exponentially grow my account without being overwhelmingly risky

It’s a style that resonates well with a lot of newer traders, and there’s a good reason for that.

If you study hard and trade with disciplinemy style works.

I’m excited to continue expanding my teaching abilities to better help students.

#2. Focus on the Process

This is a big one for me (and maybe for you as well).

In the heat of the moment, it can be tough to focus on anything but the money.

If you find yourself getting tunnel vision, remember to focus on the process.

And don’t be too hard on yourself. It happens to the best of us. I still get in the wrong state of mind from time to time…

But this year, my goal is to focus on nothing other than the process — then let the money come as a result of that.

Beyond trading, I hope to have a better relationship with money in general. That was a problem for me in 2021. I think improving that relationship will make me a happier person — and a better trader.

I hope everyone had a fun and safe celebration over the weekend! Let’s crush 2022.

Here’s to a stellar 2022,

Matt Monaco and Bryce Tuohey
